Major (Ret) Ronnie J. Ogletree served in the U.S. Army for over 24.5 years in the Medical Services Corp.
He holds degrees from both Georgia State University and Atlanta Technical College.
Major (Ret) Ogletree is the present Commander of American Veterans Post 9-1-1 for the past three (3) years and is a Past Commander for the local American Legion Post where he served as Commander for eleven (11) years.
Major (Ret) Ogletree is the Worshipful Master of Masonic Lodge, Brothers of the Covenant 57, Vice President of the Campbellton Rd Business Merchants Association, current Chief Operations Officer for Club 291 Inc.
He is the proud father of eight (8) children and nine (9) grandchildren.
In his downtime his enjoys playing professional game of Bid Whist, traveling, and singing with his R & B Band.
Major (Ret) Ogletree’s passions are helping Homeless Veterans and providing educational and economic opportunities for our youth in the community.

Sergeant (Ret) First Class Clarence Stewart Sr. served in the U.S. Army for 28 years as a Logistics Non-Commissioned Officer and in the Chemical Corp. As a civilian, he worked in the U.S. Postal Service for five years before he had to medically retire.
Sergeant (Ret) First Class Clarence Stewart is the current First Vice Commander of the American Veterans Post 9-1-1.
He is a graduate of St. Leo University and Atlanta Technical College. He has lifetime memberships with the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legions.
He is single with four children. He is an avid weapons collector and enjoys indoor/outdoor shooting at the range. His peace and joy are assisting other veterans in applying for disability compensation.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Harry Tucker served in the U.S. Navy for four years in the Engineering Corp. He served as an Electrician during the Persian Gulf Era. He was stationed on the 3rd Fleet ship in the Persian Gulf, previously called the 6th fleet in Libya. His duty stations included Orlando, Florida; Norfolk, Virginia; and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
He graduated Atlanta Area Technical school with a degree in Electrical Technology.
He previously served as the third vice commander and has been the 2nd Vice Commander since January 2021.
He has one daughter, three sons and three grandchildren. He enjoys assembling furniture and putting puzzles together. He enjoys helping veterans.

Specialist Spec 4 Michael Scott Sr. served in the military for 11 years. His tour of duty was the U.S. Air Force as a Security Policeman during Desert Storm. Years later, he re-enlisted in the Army National Guard and worked in the Maintenance and Dental Squad.
He attended training and completed certifications as a Dental Assistant, Dental Lab Technician, Cook and a Physical Therapist. After he left the military, he began a career in Cosmetology and Massage Therapy. He specializes in pedicures, manicures, and massage therapy. He is known as “Dr. Foot”. He enjoys pampering his clients and relieving stress.
In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, singing, and dancing. He has been a member of the Bowden Male Steppers (BMS) for six years. He has two sons and two grandchildren.
He enjoys helping veterans, especially the homeless.

Staff Sergeant Ricardo Jacobs served in the U.S. Army from 1987 to 2000 as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team Leader.
SSG Jacobs is a Lead Medical Support Assistant at the Atlanta VA Medical Center’s Atlanta Veterans Clinic located in Decatur. He has worked for the VA Health Administration since April 2014. The Vice Chair of the Ft. McPherson Community Engagement Sub-Committee, Past Chair of the Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit R, President of the Campbellton RD Tax Allocation District Board. Past Chair of The Baker Hills Neighborhood Association. And Has been a High School Football Referee in the Georgia High School Association and the Atlanta Area Football Officials Association since 2002.
He is the proud father of two (2) daughters.
In his downtime his enjoys spending time with his children and increasing knowledge in computer hardware, Cooking, music, and teaching.

Sergeant Marcella Chism served in the U.S. Air Force for four years as a Weather Observation Specialist during the Desert Storm era.
She was stationed at Loring AFB, in Maine.
She graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. In 1994, she moved to Tucson, Arizona and began her career as an Accountant for the Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons. In 2001, she was promoted to Regional Accountant and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. She retired and has over 25 years’ experience in accounting and finance. In addition to her government experience, she has worked as a Treasurer and Junior Accountant for nonprofit organizations. She worked for six years as a seasonal Income Tax Advisor.
She has one son Corey, and enjoys cooking, listening to music, singing, sewing, playing the guitar, and crocheting.
She joined American Veterans Post 9-1-1, in November 2017, to assist in helping other veterans and giving back to the community.

Jeff Williams served in the U.S. Army for 20 years during the Desert Storm Era.
Jeff Williams has been the Service Office since August 2018 to present.
After he left the military, he was employed by Homeland Security as a Federal Police Officer. He was later promoted to Operation Sergeant. He retired with over 15 years of service.
He has two daughters (Sasha, Amanda) and five 5 grandchildren. He enjoys cooking, making and refurbishing furniture.
He joined American Veterans Post 9-1-1, on August 14 2018, to assist in helping other veterans and giving back to the community.

Sergeant Walter Searcy served in the U.S. Air Force for four years in the Combat Field Maintenance Squadron as an Electrical Repairment Specialist.
He graduated Cum Laude with an associated degree in Psychology and Sociology, and cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from Buffalo State University. He holds a degree in Theology.
In 1975, he moved to Atlanta and volunteered at the Ben Hill Recreation Center. In 1983, he began working at the U.S. Post Office where he retired in 2005.
He is a Lifetime member of the Disable American Veterans (DAV) and a member of the American Legions for 46 years. Hs is an ordained minister and a member of the Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral. He ministers in both the Prison Ministry and the Altar Workers & Intercessory Ministry.
He enjoys helping veterans with their disability claims and joined the post to serve veterans and the community.

 Sergeant Nathaniel Hart served in the U.S. Army for 11 years as an interpreter fluent in five languages.
He is the Ambassador at Omni Technical College. He has four kids and grandchildren. He enjoys playing ping pong, photography, singing and dancing.
He enjoys giving back to the community, helping others, and helping to improve conditions for veterans. |

Yeoman Seaman Shontell N. Murphy served in the U.S. Navy for 2.5 years and received an honorable discharge.
Shontell attended bootcamp in Orlando, FL and served as Headmaster at Arms while in Yeoman training school. Orlando, FL was also her first duty station.
Shontell holds an associate’s degree from University of Phoenix in Business and a dual bachelor’s in business administration/Healthcare Management from Central Christian College in Kansas.
Shontell has 3 daughters and 2 granddaughters.
Shontell proudly serves as the Public Relations Officer for AMVETS POST 9-1-1. Her passions are social work which involves helping those in need in the community and people in general.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, volunteering to help veterans in the community, traveling and building her real estate empire.

Seaman Melvin Carter served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years.
He served as maintenance and logistic support for submarine tenders and missile cruiser destroyers.
His duty stations were on the USS Howard W. Gilmore submarine tender and the USS Luce destroyer.
He has two daughters and is originally from Buffalo, New York. He enjoys baseball, basketball, and bowling.
